  1. About RSOG

The Rwanda Society of Obstetrician and Gynecologist (RSOG) is a professional organization established as per the Ministerial Order N°04/08.11 OF 09/01/2012. RSOG’s mission is to contribute to the improvement in women’s health in Rwanda by promoting excellence in clinical practice, training, and research in Obstetrics and Gynecology, continuous professional development, and maintenance of high ethical standards; to represent the discipline within the country, on the continent, and internationally. RSOG has been actively involved in improving maternal and child health in Rwanda through teaching sessions, outreach program, advising the Ministry of Health in matters related to reproductive health. Organizational Experience RSOG has been able since its creation to conduct eight annual scientific conferences with impressive turn-out and participation of both national stakeholders and international speakers and partners.

  1. Position Overview

Rwanda Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (RSOG) is seeking to hire a qualified the Managing Director whom will serve as the visionary leader responsible for overseeing and guiding the strategic direction, operational excellence, and overall success of RSOG. Reporting directly to the executive committee, the Managing Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s mission, ensuring financial sustainability, fostering a culture of innovation, and maintaining a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

  • Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive growth, innovation, and sustainability in a dynamic healthcare landscape.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Implement best practices to enhancethe quality of healthcare services provided.

Financial Stewardship:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Finance Department and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support organizational goals.

Board Relations: Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directorsto develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, government agencies, donors, and the community.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and industry forums.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing executive team, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes professional growth.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Innovation and Technology:

  • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and practices to enhance healthcare delivery and organizational efficiency.
  1. Job Requirement

Qualifications, experience, and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, sciences or a related field.
  • Proven executive leadership experience in a healthcare or relevant organization.
  • Experience of five years in managerial position
  • In-depth knowledge of Rwanda health system
  • Proven experience in grant writing and management
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Experience working with professional association or no government organization
  • Strong experience in fund mobilization with various donor national and international
  • Good experience working with counterpart and Ministry teams in Rwanda
  • Proven record in speaking and writing in English, French and Kinyarwanda
